The holiday season returns for the fourth time at Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens.
This year, the pavilions are decorated not only with classic holiday colors like red, green, and white, but also with black, purple, pink, burgundy, and more. A grand Christmas tree glows in the middle of nature, and special Nicolai Bergmann ornaments shimmer in the wind and light. With decorations that make full use of the unique landscape of Hakone Gora, you can enjoy a holiday atmosphere found nowhere else.
This year, we will also hold a special illumination event on four days—December 6, 7, 20, and 21—featuring lights by the Danish lighting brand Louis Poulsen. Countless lights blend with the natural surroundings, creating a once-a-year holiday experience. At NOMU Hakone, we offer warm and sweet seasonal items such as hot wine and original sweets. Illumination Weekend Night
On select weekend evenings during the holiday season, the garden will host Illumination Weekend Night, where the entire space is gently lit with various lights. Under the clear winter night sky, soft lights shimmer throughout Hakone Gardens. In the quiet nighttime landscape, warm lamps by Danish brand Louis Poulsen and the glow of open flames illuminate the surroundings, creating a magical and serene atmosphere.
Hot wine, hot chocolate, and a selection of sweets such as cookies will also be available.

Holiday Workshop with Nicolai Bergmann
On Monday, December 22, Nicolai Bergmann will host his final flower workshop of 2025 at Hakone Gardens, surrounded by the festive holiday atmosphere. Participants will create a modern, elegant table arrangement designed to bring beauty and brightness to the holiday table. The arrangement can be enjoyed through the New Year as well.
Nicolai will guide everyone step-by-step, making it accessible even for beginners. Join us for this unique workshop held in a setting you can’t experience anywhere else.
