① HYDRANGEA SEASON

More than 3,000 hydrangea plants, in a rich variety of hues, welcome visitors throughout the grounds of Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens. From pink and blue to white, these hydrangeas slowly shift in color from July through October, revealing a different expression with every visit. The contrast between the lush greenery and the hydrangeas creates scenery unique to summer. As you stroll along the garden paths, discover the subtle differences in color from one bloom to the next. Come experience the vivid world of hydrangeas that only summer at Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens can offer.

② SUMMER WEEKEND BRUNCH — Every Weekend in August

Every Saturday and Sunday throughout August, enjoy a brunch created by a Danish-born chef. The garden opens an hour earlier than usual, at 9:00 AM, offering bread, pastries, homemade waffles, and egg dishes — light, Nordic-inspired dishes paired with the unhurried pace of the garden. A special ticket bundling admission and brunch is also available. Savor the taste of Scandinavia this summer, surrounded by lush greenery.

③ BOTANICAL OBJECTS — August 1–31

Twenty-five botanical objects, crafted by Nicolai Bergmann to showcase natural materials at their fullest, are displayed throughout the garden. In this open, airy setting, discover rare works of natural art rarely seen elsewhere. Among the many meticulously detailed botanical pieces, find the one that speaks to you.

④ MARKETPLACE GARDEN GAMES — August 1–31

Five games are set up in the Marketplace, free for all visitors to enjoy throughout the period. Trickier than they appear, these games offer entertainment for children and adults alike. Make them part of your summer memories.

⑤ STUDENT DISCOUNT — July 18 – August 31

This summer, students can enter for a special flat rate of ¥500. Whether with friends or on your own, take your time to enjoy the lush garden surroundings. Vivid hydrangeas and open garden scenery — encounters only possible during summer break. Create memories here that only your student years can offer.
