Flower Exhibition “KUMIAWASE”
– Five Days Weaving 25 Years of Creativity Through 25 Floral Artworks and Combinations –

For over two decades, Nicolai Bergmann has continued to bring surprise and inspiration into people’s everyday lives through floral design. His signature creation — the original flower box — celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025.

To mark this milestone, Nicolai returns to his roots. Over the past 25 years, he has explored the limitless possibilities of floral design, creating new values through countless collaborations that connect people, cultures, and materials. At the core of his creative journey lies one consistent theme — combination.

The exhibition theme, “KUMIAWASE” (meaning “combination” in Japanese), expresses this idea through an immersive space of 25 floral installations, each representing a chapter in his 25-year journey. These works are created in collaboration with Danish artists, Japanese creators, and diverse crafts such as ceramics, porcelain, and bamboo art — each a unique expression born from an encounter with a new inspiration.

Visitors will also experience an artistic fusion of elements from Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens, where nature and floral art harmonize — with trees, bamboo, and soil from the lush Hakone landscape brought into the city to form a dreamlike setting unlike any other.
