THE FLOWER BOX EXHIBITION IN DAZAIFU

-A world of art through the flower box-

The invention of the flower box in year 2000 by flower artist Nicolai Bergmann is now a staple gift choice, a creation seen as a pivotal point in the development of flower art.
Nicolai Bergmann’s bouquets and arrangements are not only limited within the realm of interior design and gifta, they have become works of art creating new values.

This time, we will be presenting more than 100 flower boxes created so far, including seasonal and collaboration items, as well as works of art stemming from the flower box.
The exhibition will be held at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Houmangu Shrine in Fukuoka, both of which have a history of more than 1,000 years.
Nicolai Bergmann’s favorite artists, creators, and celebrities will also be presenting their creations in boxes and artwork inspired by the flower box. We welcome you to experience a new world of flower design that exceeds the imagination.

Nicolai Bergmann Flower Box Arrangement History

The invention of the signature flower box came about after a consultation with a client who was looking for gift options.
The client had a specific request of 600 gift to be handed out at a brand’s press event. There was however, limitation in storage space for the gifts which was the point to be kept in mind for the proposal. Stacking and storing is challenging when the gift items are fresh flowers, so at the beginning, Nicolai tried various ideas such as placing bouquets and arrangements into boxes to do this. With each idea also came new problems, such as disproportionate gaps in the boxes and an overall unsatisfactory esthetic quality. After much trial and error, Nicloai finally reached the idea of laying flowers directly into a square box.
The birth of the flower box arrangement was soon followed by the opening of the very first Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design store in the renowned select store ESTNATION, and attracted much attention from fashion and design industries as items of unique perspective.
Gradually, the flower box became increasingly popular and today remains as the Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design signature product.
